| MISSION STATEMENT |
Mills-Peninsula Health Services is dedicated to preserving and improving the health status of our fellow residents in San Mateo County and others who seek care from us. We deliver excellent service and care with compassion and respect. By providing education for disease prevention and management, we empower people to take a greater role in their own health and wellness. |
| DATE FOUNDED | Mills Memorial Hospital (San Mateo) was founded in 1908; Peninsula Hospital (Burlingame) in 1954. The 2 merged in 1985 to become “Mills-Peninsula Hospitals”, and subsequently Mills-Peninsula Health Services. In 1996 Mills-Peninsula joined Sutter Health, a not-for-profit system of 27 hospitals in Northern and Central California. Now Mills Health Center is our outpatient facility, and Peninsula Medical Center is the acute care hospital. We are building a new hospital in this site, to be in operation in 2010. |

All our openings are posted on our website’s employment page ( www.mills-peninsula.org ) and the Sutter Health website ( www.sutterhealth.org ). We use internet postings (Career Builder, Yahoo, Monster, etc) for most positions. For hard-to-fill positions we use professional websites or newsletters, trade publications and newspapers. We utilize large “Sutter system” ads or website banners to increase exposure. We also encourage our own employees to refer applicants. |
